Monica Abbott hails from Salinas region of California and completed her primary education from a regional school. She joined North Salinas High School in 1999 and studied there till 2003. During her high school days, she played for Vikings and had an incredible record of more than 300 strikeouts per season.
After that, she even became The Salinas Californian Athlete of the Year. Many universities offered to take her but she chose University of Tennessee. She played for the Lady Volunteers softball team for three years till 2007 while completing her graduation in communications.
