So Wa Wai was born in a middle class family based in Hong Kong. Unfortunately, he suffered from Jaundice during birth and this affected his hearing and limbs permanently. His disability is classified as T36 for sports competitions and he is affected with Cerebral Palsy.
So Wa Wai was determined to fight in his life and did not allow his disability to come in the way of his dreams. He was always interested in running in spite of his disability. His coach noticed his talent and enthusiasm at the age of 10 and encouraged him with professional training. He later made So Wa Wai the manager of this sports club and supported him financially for many years.
