It is common for villagers to panic when they see a snake and they kill them to save humans from snake bites.

However, Vava Suresh educates them about the nature of snakes and rescues the snakes from such situations. He later releases the captured snakes into the forests. Interestingly, if the snake has laid eggs, he maintains it till the eggs are hatched and then releases them into the forests. In this way, he has acted as wildlife conservationist for many decades.

He has become very famous allover Kerala as most people have seen his videos where he captures the snakes with bare hands and educates people through TV programs and Youtube videos about handling snakes and wild life conservation methods. He has received several awards for his social work including the Vocational Service Award in 2011 by Rotary Club.

Vava Suresh is a big celebrity in Kerala and Princes Charles expressed his desire to meet Suresh during his visit to Kerala. Suresh met Princes Charles in 2013 and explained about his work. He got good appreciation at the International level for his conservation work. He even rejected the government job offer by the forest department.

Interestingly, Suresh has suffered several snake bites in his career as he uses bare hands to catch them. He does not use any protective gear and captures snakes with his experience. Some of them are poisonous snake bites and he was even hospitalized few times and stayed in ICU to recover from such bites.
